Rock climbing in la Pena de Bernal!!

Yesterday, we went climbing outdoor with Edson, pretty efficient climber (www.rockus4u.com), it was just GREAT!!!! A group of about 20 people, relaxed atmosphere, sun and great blocks!! My body is sore today!! but we loved it!

Of course, we forgot our camera ;-(( but Edson took some pics of us, let's see if we can get them next week-end! He organizes a fiesta for his thirties in Bernal!! Asta pronto and have sweet dreams for European friends and family!

I cannot resist: I show you some pics of climbing in the Verdon (May 2006)

On the other side of the rock, the lake of "Sainte Croix"
Lovely clift in the "gorge"

Me, sweating!

Under me...

On my left!

Down...

A MESCAL factory, in other words, the Tequilla of Oaxaca ;-D

Close to Oaxaca, we could visit a Mescal factory, the famous "Agua de Agave" ! It seems that Marco liked it!

I do not remember how many exactly but there are around 20 different types of Agave which distillation gives different types of alcohol. Basically, Tequilla is the one from a specific area, close to Guadalajara, south west of Mexico city.

Of note, you must wait 10 years to get a proper agave for Mescal!!! Procedure to make Mescal...

1. Cook the agave in this "oven" recovered by stones for 3 days

2. Smash the agave to extract the sugar...

The poor horse did not allow me to take a better picture, it was probably to warm!

Then, the distillation part followed by storage for 6 to 12 months...

Fill the bottles...

Great and tasty result!

Well, if you like, you can add dead scorpions or larvaes... I tried and I found it... slighlty disgusting! A Duvel is a lot better for me!

Un mescalito, dos mescalitos, tres... y... no recuerdo ;-D

Mitla... 40 kms away from Oaxaca

Between blue sky and cactus...

Sylvia, one colleague of Marco, native from Oaxaca with whom we had the pleasure of discovering the area...

Surrounded by cactus stands a great church bordered with the ruines of Mitla

Some friezes...

Street market in Oaxaca

Of course, a little cool beer is mandatory... pinuts from Oaxaca with lime... lime for ever, lime everywhere...

They have different kind of bread, some funny ones with butter/sugar and the best: with pork grease on top of it!! Not really one of my favorite I've to say!

Cacao in Oaxaca!!

For chocolate lovers...

In Oaxaca, they have different types of "Molé", a kind of sauce with pure cacao...

Euh, I'm not so proud of this...

You remember the nice car you saw a couple of days ago? Well, I add some problems to adapt again to the manual lever... Hum, I'm not gonna tell you how it happened ;-D
